Every year, nearly 110,000 youth ballplayers ages 5 to 19, are treated in hospital emergency rooms for baseball-related injuries. Baseball and softball head injuries account for about 36% (around 40,000) of this number.

MASK ENHANCERS 2 to 5 OUNCES OF LIGHTWEIGHT, VENTILATED, COMFORTABLE AUXILIARY HEAD PROTECTION

The Enhancers are specifically designed employing anatomical knowledge and understanding to mitigate the severity of blows to the head. Creating a rapid distribution of the force of the impact over the skull, utilizing a patented, light material which reconstitutes immediately, the Enhancers dissipate the force to a lower peak, for a longer period of time, reducing impact severity and head injury criterion (HIC).

The Enhancers can be worn under the pitcher’s cap, batter & catcher’s helmet, catcher’s mask, hockey, water polo cap, and for soccer.

The Enhancers provide up to 71% reduction in head injury criterion (HIC).

The Enhancers sells at the price of a baseball cap! A simple safety upgrade that increases protection to the Umpire, Catcher and Batter. All testing of Enhanced Sports Solutions products were performed on Baseball approved equipment as a supplemental protection.

Testing was performed using the CADEX LINEAR IMPACT TESTING MACHINE. Linear Acceleration and Head Injury Criterion (HIC) were the metrics used to compare the force of a baseball traveling at 85 to 90 mph and striking the headform, which was representative of a player’s head and brain.

TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY AND CEREBRAL CONTUSIONS

Coup-Countercoup Injury describes cerebral contusions that occur at the site of the impact, and also on the complete opposite side of the brain. This occurs when the force striking the head is great enough to cause a contusion at the site of impact. A strong enough impact can actually move the brain; causing it to slam into the opposite side of the skull, where it increases the additional contusion.

RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE ENHANCERS PROVIDED UP TO A 71% REDUCTION* IN HEAD RISK CRITERIA! WITH AN APPROVED HELMET WORN OVER THE ENHANCER, UP TO A 76% REDUCTION* IN HEAD RISK CRITERIA WAS ACHIEVED WHEN WORN BY A PITCHER OR SOCCER PLAYER.

*All testing was conducted under the same conditions, changing only the headgear.

Please Note: Criteria for helmet testing today does not test any protection rendered for the brain; but rather only the helmet itself. This is the precise reason Enhancers were developed. Custom fit to specific head size, the Enhancers distribute impact force more evenly over a greater area than using an adjustable component, as studies have shown.

HOW TO MEASURE:

Use a flexible measuring tape that is marked in inches.

Position the tape where you want the Enhancer to sit, usually just above the ears and eyebrows.

Note the circumference of the head while keeping it level. To wear a fi tted ball cap over the Enhancer, add one size over the size listed, or use an adjustable ball cap.

Make sure to double check your measurement!

Head Circumference (Inches) Hat Size Head Net Size
20-1/8" 6-3/8 Youth Medium (Light Blue)
20-1/2" 6-1/2

For optimum performance, the Enhancers should be replaced every season or after 50 games, whichever comes first.
